For the last couple of years I’ve wanted a cute Valentine’s wreath but didn’t want to spend a ton of money for something I’d use one month of the year. Of course, Pinterest came to the rescue and I am in LOVE with how this wreath turned out. This project requires very little supplies, but it is a little time consuming so I recommend doing this DIY while you watch your favorite movie and drink a big ole glass of wine (or two). What You Need: -Styrofoam wreath in the shape of a heart (I got mine at Hobby Lobby in the biggest size they had) -1 yard red felt…

5 on Friday: Valentine’s Edition
Happy Valentine’s Day! This 5 on Friday is all about L-O-V-E. One. The fabulous hosts of this link up requested everyone to dedicate their first picture on this week’s 5 to Teddy using the hashtag ” #TeamTeddy.” Teddy is an ADORABLE 7 month old boy who was diagnosed with Menke’s Syndrome which is also known as “kinky hair syndrome.” It’s a rare and fatal genetic disease that affects 1 in 450,000 children in the US. “Love” Valentine Using Hand & Foot Prints
During our snow days last week the boys and I made Valentines for some very special people. After browsing Pinterest for inspiration, I knew I wanted to do something using the boys’ hands and feet, but also not overly complicated or time consuming. What You Need: -Pink and red acrylic paint -Paintbrush -Cardstock What To Do: 1. Using the paint brush, draw an “L” and “E” on the paper and let it dry completely. Note: If you’re doing this with two kids, I suggest doing the handprint for the older kids and footprint for the younger. Bigger kids have bigger feet which might not fit on the paper and have…

Valentine’s Day 2012
This Valentine’s day was one of the best ones yet. We didn’t go out to a big fancy dinner or buy each other expensive gifts, and instead opted to spend time as a family celebrating what this holiday is all about, love. And cupcakes. That was Ben’s response when I asked him why we celebrate Valentine’s day. I tried to make the day as special as I could by doing little things here and there. That morning before work and school I “baked” a heart shaped breakfast (i.e. formed pre-made cinnamon rolls into hearts) let Ben open some goodies from his grandparents, and J and I exchanged presents. That afternoon…

Little Bits of Love
I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine’s Day! Friday night we went to dinner with some friends at our favorite steak place. The next morning I took Ben to Barnes and Noble for story time which of course was Valentine’s Day themed. He listened to a few stories, made a card for daddy, and got a special little treat. Sunday morning we got up bright and early for breakfast with my parents and then headed over to their house so Ben could open his Valentine’s presents. That afternoon I made these which looked so promising on the box, but mine clearly did not turn out as well as the…
