    Easter Activities

I love Easter. Jesus, Spring, Eggs, Bunnies, what’s not to love! Leading up to Sunday, we soaked in all things Easter.  Normally we visit Santa and the Easter Bunny at our local mall, but this year we decided to go to Bass Pro instead. Not only did we see the Bunny, but there was also an egg hunt in the store. The wait for the Easter Bunny was about 30 minutes, but totally worth it. I mean, how cute is this picture?! Ben and I had to have a little discussion about how the Easter Bunny was not like Santa after he proceeded to tell it all the things he…

    Easter 2012

Finally part 2 of our Easter. I know you all have been just dying waiting for it. J and I went to Easter service at church along with my parents, and my sister and her family. Before we went I made these little cuties for breakfast. We also let Ben go through his Easter Basket from us. The actual Easter bunny comes at his grandparent’s house.  I got Ben this new Easter basket from Pottery Barn kids. Unfortunately I left it at my parents house so he got to use a Walmart sack at J’s family’s egg hunt.  After church we had lunch at my parent’s house and made the…

Let’s face it, if you’re not family it’s probably not that interesting. Heck, even if you are family you’ll probably still be bored. The night before Easter we boiled our eggs and got to decorating! J thought it would be a good idea to use the tinniest bowls we have for the dye. Note to self: next year get plastic cups. I also attempted to make “carrots” from white chocolate, orange food coloring, and strawberries. They turned out less than stellar. Dipping the…

    An Easter Miracle

Besides His miracle, we had our own little Easter miracle this year. Ben sat through the entire Easter service in church. It probably helped that it wasn’t a typical sermon and consisted entirely of music from the choir. After church we ate a delicious lunch at my parent’s house and Ben took part in his first egg hunt of the day after immediately changing into comfy pants the minute church was over. That’s my boy. We also decorated eggs. And by decorated I mean I tried to avoid getting splashed with dye.  Every year I tell myself I will get creative in decorating the eggs. And every year my creativity seems…
