    What’s Hap-Pinning Wednesday

I can’t believe that this is my first What’s Hap-pinning Wednesday but I’m so excited to be joining in and linking up with Jenn. These Grilled Maple Sriracha Chicken Kebobs from Table for Two look amazing and I’m not even that big of a Sriracha fan.  This vest looks so comfy, plus I feel like you could wear it a million different ways. Every year I say I want to do something fun with our elf and this year I’m determined to make it happen. I sometimes laugh at the “homemade christmas gift” ideas posts because some of them are absolutely ridiculous and something nobody would actually want. This post though has great DIY ideas for…

    Weekend Recap

Before I get into the details of our weekend I want to take a moment and say how absolutely heartbreaking and terrifying the events in Paris have been. I visited Paris when I was 18 years old fresh out of high school and it lived up to all the wonder I thought it would be. For me, what makes these attacks so scary is that the people killed were just out enjoying their Friday night, having a beer at a restaurant, listening to a band, watching a game. Although always sad, normally terrorist attacks don’t make me feel truly anxious, but for some reason this attack had my mind racing…

    DIY Ikea Spice Rack Bookshelves

I know I’m one of the last people on earth to do this Ikea hack, but just in case I’m not, here’s the super easy tutorial for creating these cheap and easy bookshelves. What You’ll Need: -Ikea Spice Racks (I used 4, but you can use as many as you want) -Wood Stain -Foam brush -Piece of cardboard -Screws/Nails for hanging 1. Unwrap and assemble the spice racks. There’s directions included, but they’re super easy to put together. 2. Stain or paint your wood. I used my favorite Minwax brand in the color Provincial 211 and applied it with a foam brush and then used a paper towel to wipe…

    Not Another Hunter Repeat

So last year I told my husband that I wanted a pair of Hunter rain boots for Christmas. I told him this in October and November and then come December I was starting to get nervous. Long story short, by the time he tried to order the boots Nordstrom was sold out, Zappos, Hunter.com you name it. He ended up buying them off Amazon from a place in the UK but they delivered the wrong size and I ultimately had to send them back which was an ordeal in itself since they were from another country. After Christmas, some stores had them back in stock and I ended up getting…

    Halloween 2015

I posted a few of our Halloween pictures yesterday, but I also wanted to do a post with all the pictures in one place. Unless your family or just really love seeing cute kids in costumes, this post might not be all that exciting. Our first Halloween party was at my work on Wednesday night. Next was Jack’s party at school (Ben’s school had a “reading party” all day) And finally the real deal Halloween night. We went to my mother-in-law’s house for dinner and then trick or treated in some nearby neighborhoods. So many of the houses go all out-check out the picture of the witch and apothecary type booth. It…
