Just Another Day + A Haircut

Today was pretty uneventful. Ben woke up with some pretty crazy hair and we decided it was getting a little shaggy so J gave him a little trim. Tomorrow I’m signing Ben up for the summer reading program at our library. We did it last summer even though he was only a few months old, it’s never too early to start reading, right? As part of the program you track the books you read along with activities to do with your child. When you reach a certain number of books and do a certain number of activities you get a small prize and last year we got to pick out…

    17 Months

Ben, You are 17 months old today! I wish I had started this blog from the moment you were born so I could write down all the things you did month by month although I did write a lot of it down in your baby book! You are getting so big and have such a personality. You still look like your daddy although this month you have become quite the momma’s boy. Last month it was more daddy, but this month you are all about me and I LOVE it:) You talk all the time and no longer sign because you know so many words. You say at least 30…

    Weekend Recap

This past weekend was really relaxing. Saturday morning we got up and J mowed the lawn while Ben and I went to the grocery store. Right before we left, J and I were talking about how we wanted to get Ben a little basketball hoop, the kind that stands on the floor and and it can be lowered or raised based on the child’s height. Ben had played with one at a Parent’s As Teachers event we took him to and he loved it. As luck would have it, as Ben and I turned out of our drive way, I noticed the neighbors up the street were having a garage…

    Lazy Day and Pottery Barn

Do you ever have one of those days where you get absolutely nothing done? Well that was today. I did manage to do a little laundry and cook lunch and dinner, but that was about it. I got the Swiffer out to clean the floor and Ben decided that he wanted to help and who was I to stop him. He even got under the couch.  On an unrelated note, we ordered Ben a little backpack from Pottery Barn and it finally came in the mail.  I love Pottery Barn and although they can be a little pricey at times you can find some great deals too. Our diaper bag…

    Father’s Day Weekend + A Birthday

This past weekend was busy in our house, but we’ve had so much fun the last couple of days. Thursday night we went to dinner for my mom’s birthday. Ben did pretty well and we got a table right next to where they make pizzas. Ben loved looking at the guys throwing the dough and they were so nice to interact with him. They smiled, gave him thumbs up, and made funny faces. I don’t think people realize how helpful/entertaining this can be to someone with a child. After dinner J and I decided to give the frozen yogurt place another try. After we got our yogurt we drove to…
