    Weekend Recap

    Like everyone else, I can’t write about our weekend without first mentioning the Super Bowl. We’re not huge sports fans and honestly I wasn’t that into the game until the 4th quarter when things started to get close. By OT I was on the edge of the couch. What a comeback from the Patriots. Of course Lady Gaga rocked the halftime show and unlike some artists, she can seriously sing.  via Backing up a little bit, Thursday I ate lunch with Ben at school since he was Star Student that week. We love little brother, but it was nice to eat an uninterrupted meal and focus on just him.  I…

    Weekend Recap {8th Birthday Edition}

    Guys, I officially have an 8 year old. And I look way too young for it 🙂 Ben turned 8 yesterday and we celebrated all day long, but before I get too carried away, let’s back up a bit. Thursday night we wen’t to the women’s basketball game and while Ben enjoyed it, Jack was more focused on his Dip n Dots. Can’t say I blame him.  I posted this on my Instagram, but Friday at work we filmed a video for one of our programs and I also got to do the voice over for it. Now all I need is an animated movie.  Friday night was super low key…

    Weekend Recap

    This was one of those really great weekends. Although time seemed to fly by Saturday, it seemed to slowly pass on Sunday which allowed me check almost everything off my to-do list and still have some down time to sneak in several episodes of Gilmore Girls. I even got the boys’ backpacks packed for school and everything ready to go for the morning which was one of my New Years Resolutions. Since the new season started on Netflix I decided to go back and watch them from the beginning since I’d only seen a few episodes here and there. With 7 seasons and 22 episodes each season it’s taken me a…

    Weekend Recap {A Visit With Santa}

    This weekend we headed to Kansas City to check out the lights, take in the sights, and of course, visit Santa. If you’ve never been to the country club plaza at night during Christmastime you’re seriously missing out. I read great reviews online about the Gingerbread Village & Santa at Crown Center so after lunch at Chuy’s we made our way on over. The line was definitely long and I think we ended up waiting about an hour although it didn’t feel like it until the very end. Isn’t that always how it goes? Jack had been talking about sitting on Santa’s lap for weeks, but he also tends to be really shy around…

    Weekend Recap

    Oh Monday. You always come so fast. How’s everyone doing? I didn’t mean to take such a long break from blogging, but I’m back and linking up with Biana to bring you a recap from our weekend.  Our Friday night was wild and crazy building a Gingerbread village. I’ve wised up over the years and now buy the village so everyone has their own house decorate which cuts down on the fighting. I normally get our kits from Walmart or Target but I picked up this one from Bed Bath & Beyond while buying some presents and it’s the best kit we’ve had yet. Super easy to assemble, the icing actually held…
