    A Taste of Two

Today J and I got the chance to see just what life would be like with another child. J’s cousin is moving about an hour away so while she and her husband moved we volunteered to watch her two little girls. Mallory is 4 and Kylie is 13 months and they are the cutest, sweetest, and most well behaved children. Mallory ended up not staying with us since she had been feeling sick the day before so it was just Kylie and Ben. Although they’ve played together many times at different family things, this was the first time they hung out just one on one. Being less than 6 months…

    Goodbye Bottle

Today is a very sad day in our house and more for me than for Ben or J. Tonight’s the last night Ben gets a bottle before bed. He’s stopped taking bottles or “ba ba’s” during the day for a while now, but we still kept the one before bed. His pediatrician told me a few months ago that it was time to cut that one out as well and although he’s more than ready I don’t know if I am.  He’s growing up so fast and taking a bottle is the last thing that we do/have that still makes him seem like our little baby(besides the diapers, but I…

    Gold!

One tradition that J’s grandma does every Easter is that she hides gold dollars in the Easter eggs for all the kids instead of candy. Last year Ben was too little to collect eggs, but this year he was all about finding the “gold.” The other day he wanted his piggy bank down and we got out all the change. J would tell him, “bring me your gold,” and Ben would go over and hand it to him and then snatch it right back. I love his baby belly.

    17 Months

Ben, You are 17 months old today! I wish I had started this blog from the moment you were born so I could write down all the things you did month by month although I did write a lot of it down in your baby book! You are getting so big and have such a personality. You still look like your daddy although this month you have become quite the momma’s boy. Last month it was more daddy, but this month you are all about me and I LOVE it:) You talk all the time and no longer sign because you know so many words. You say at least 30…

    Give Me Some Sugar

My boys. I can’t tell you how often I catch them doing things or I hear J tell Ben something and I laugh out loud. Ben is the mini version of J and sometimes the two of them are quite a pair. Last night I gave Ben a bath, lotioned him all up, brushed his teeth, combed his hair, and he was all set and ready for bed. Then I made a HUGE mistake. I decided to go to the bathroom which took all of 30 seconds but when I came back into the kitchen this is what I found. That would be Tang. Remember that orange sugary kool-aid like…
