We kicked off our Easter celebrations by decorating eggs Saturday night. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. I also wised up this year and bought 2 egg dying kits and boiled 3 dozen eggs to cut down on the fighting of who gets which color or more eggs. Thunderstorms rolled through early Sunday morning but by the afternoon the weather ended up being beautiful. The boys were excited to get their easter baskets but Jack didn’t love hunting the eggs as much as I thought he would. After breakfast we went to church and then my parents came over for lunch. My sister and her family were all sick…

Weekend Recap {St. Patrick’s Day}
To my own shock I actually wasn’t dreading Monday. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it’s 80 degrees outside, and it’s the first day of Spring, and Spring Break is next week. Noticing a theme? Bring on all the Spring things! But before I get too excited about Spring, I’m linking up with Biana to recap our weekend. There’s something so fun about celebrating St. Patrick’s day with little kids. We have a tradition where the boys build a leprechaun trap with their dad and despite their best efforts, each year the leprechaun manages to escape. When your dad has an engineering degree, you can’t have a simple…

Christmas 2016
Before we get too far into the new year I wanted to recap our Christmas. This was probably my most favorite Christmas yet. The kids were so excited for all their gifts and most importantly they were grateful which is something we’ve really worked on. On Christmas Eve Eve we made our cookies for Santa. We celebrate with J’s side of the family on Christmas Eve which started with lunch and presents at his mom’s house. I just adore them. Cousins.…

A New Year {2017}
Happy New Year! I took lots of time off from blogging in December and it was a nice break, but I’m glad to be back. I love the start of a new year. The excitement of another 365 days to live, do, and be anything is awaiting us. Last year I chose JOY as my word that I wanted to represent the upcoming year. This year I’m choosing the word EMBRACE. People, chaos, things not in my control, the peace that comes with saying no, and new experiences. I’m choosing to embrace life, whatever it may bring. And because my list loving self also needs specific resolutions, here they are. one. Travel.…

Christmastime in Branson
We started a little tradition with my husband’s family where we take a trip every year around Christmas. Last year we went to Disney World and this year we stayed much closer to home and headed to Branson. I posted about our Summer Trip to Branson last year and the city is so much different in the summer than it is in the winter. One of the main attractions in Branson is Silver Dollar City, and they do a huge Christmas celebration but we opted out this time since it’s outdoors and temperatures were in the single digits. I’m so glad we decided not to it was so painfully cold. J stayed behind to…
