    The Trouble With Time

    via I’ve really struggled with when or whether to even blog about this. I don’t want to go into details right now because my father in law is a pretty private person, but he could also use all the prayers and positive thoughts he could get right now as well as my husband and the rest of his family. These last few weeks have re-inspired me to travel more, yell less, be thankful, spend time in the Word, take more pictures, give more to others, and be present in every moment. via via via

    Long Weekend Recap

    I managed to go the entire 3 day weekend and only cook once and it was this dip so not even an actual meal. Go me. Ben got 5/5 on his first spelling test of the year so we celebrated with ice cream on Friday night. Saturday we went to our neighborhood pool one last time and had the whole thing to ourselves most of the time. And after being afraid of fountains all summer, Jack finally got the courage to splash around in them. #betterlatethannever Sunday we headed to the boys’ cousin’s birthday party at J’s aunt’s house. Friday, Friday

    Whose ready for a 3 day weekend? Me, me, me!  //one// Although Labor day marks the close of Summer and pools everywhere, we may be taking one last swim with temps like these. I’m jealous when I read about some of the fall like weather many of you are already having and I’m really wishing for some cooler days.  //two// With fall just around the corner, I’m so glad I found this tutorial on Pinterest because I’m never quite sure how cuff my jeans with booties. Now I know! via //three// Ben’s front tooth had been wiggly for quite some time and of course he (and daddy) pulled it out…

    Sweet Green Apple Tart {Throwback Edition}

    There’s something so fall about apples to me. I think it’s because I associate it with apple picking at an orchard which is the quintessential fall activity.  Today I’m bringing back one of my favorite apple recipes that will hopefully get you in the fall spirit. You can view the original post with step by step pictures here. What You’ll Need: -1 pkg. puff pastry -3 large granny smith apples -1 cup brown sugar -1 tbsp cinnamon -1/2 c. crushed pecans -caramel syrup for drizzling 1. Begin by slicing and de-seeding 3 large granny smith apples. The apple slices should be pretty thin. 2. Place the apple slices into a large bowl. 3. To…

    Weekend Recap

    This weekend was lazily busy (busy, but in a good, non-time commitment sorta way) and one that I didn’t want to end. We’ve had unusually cool weather this time of year (60’s & 70’s) so it was only fitting to bust out a more fall like nail color. Of course today it’s back in the 90’s. I might be the last blogger to take advantage of the Ikea spice rack turned book shelf. We got them hung this weekend and Jack was so excited to read ALL the books. (Full post on these coming soon) Friday afternoon Ben’s class had a decorating party for their writer’s notebooks and I went…
