    Weekend Recap

I’ve decided that every week I am writing “clean house” on my to-do list. Not because I need to remember to do it, the food crumbs do a good enough job of that, but because I’m crazy and I need the satisfaction that comes from scratching an item off the list.  Besides cleaning the house and doing laundry, this weekend was full of playing Legos in bed.  Baby cuddles during nap time. A rare mommy and Jack picture. And a birthday celebration for my 3 year old niece. You know what this weekend wasn’t full off? Me cooking. And it was glorious! Oh wait, I did make breakfast on Sunday…

    5 on Friday

One. All you southerners get ready to forgive me. I went to a luncheon for work yesterday and they served girts. I’ve seen all the delicious looking grit pictures you all post so I had high hopes that these would be delicious. My friend Staci summed it up best when she said it tasted like baby cereal. I’m hoping these “cheese” grits were in fact just missing the cheese because they were terrible. Two. This is Jack’s, “Who said you could hold me?” look. Three. Tuesday night we took dinner to our friends who just had twins. They are so tiny and precious. It’s amazing how much of a difference…

    Jack: 5 Month Update

Just as I predicted 5 months snuck up on us way too soon. Where did the last month of your little life go? You continue to be such a sweetheart. I can’t even remember the last time you woke up the in the morning and weren’t smiling and just so happy to see me. I don’t have your official 5 month weight and your next well child checkup isn’t until 6 months. If I had to guess, I would say you’re close to 15 pounds. You are really long which requires me to size up on footed sleepers so your little toes aren’t cramped. You’ve had a little bit of…

    5 on Friday

Linking up again with these lovely ladies for another 5 on Friday. One. Last weekend we went to dinner at one of our favorite local pizza places. It’s so easy to get stuck in a routine of coming home, making dinner, doing bath time, and then going to bed. It’s nice to take a break from the everyday routine and enjoy a week night out. Two. I’ve been dying to make these two Christmas crafts for the past 3 Christmas’ now 🙂  via via Three. I bought Jack this ball after reading about it on several other blogs and he LOVES it. All the little holes make it so easy…

    Random Thoughts on a Monday

This weekend was pretty low key. We hung around the house and I finally had to time to do a good deep cleaning. I also did what feels like 1,000 loads of laundry. In reality it was probably 10. And I know everyone looses the match to socks but have y’all tried finding the match to baby socks? Those things are sooo tiny. I swear I have 5 pairs missing their mate. Maybe I need to make this. Via Jennifer at Life in the Green House posted this picture of the new shelves she put up in her house. I may have to do this next weekend. And by I, I mean J.…
