    5 on Friday

Happy first 5 on Friday in March! One. I can’t believe Daylight Savings is this weekend. Don’t get me wrong, I love the extra daylight, but when you have kids time change can be the devil. Obviously whoever had this brilliant idea wasn’t a parent.  Two. When Greek yogurt first became really popular several years ago I never jumped on the bandwagon. It didn’t help that people compared the plain flavor to sour cream. After several recommendations from friends I started eating the strawberry or pomegranate flavor from Chobani and really liked it so when I saw a commercial for Yoplait’s 100 Greek yogurt I decided to give it a…

    Day in Our Life

I always enjoy reading these types of posts so here’s a typical weekday in our house. 6:08am: I hit snooze once then force myself to get into the shower. 6:25am: Get dressed for work and put moisturizer on my face, but I don’t do my hair or makeup yet. I head into Ben’s room and wake him up.  6:30am: Ben wakes up and asks if it’s a stay home day. I usually try to wake him up around 6:30am on school days because he’s more likely to take a nap at school if I do:) 6:40am: Ben lays on the couch and watches an episode of Scooby Doo while I fix us…

    2014 Resolutions: 3 Month Update

Well we’re 3 months into the New Year so here’s an update on how my Decisions for 2014 are going. 1. Family Time Ben and I have had some one-on-one time and we went on a date to the movies. J and Ben have been having nightly “boy” time where they play games on the Wii U. Sometimes they even invite me to play 🙂  J and I have also been able to get out of the house and go to dinner and a movie just the two of us.  2. Less negativity   I’m trying, but could definitely try harder. 3. Healthy Living This one has been pretty successful so far. I joined a Gold’s Gym Express…

    That De-escalated Quickly

Starting Saturday night and into Sunday we we’re supposed to get freezing rain and 6-10 inches of snow. The freezing rain came, but the prediction of 6-10 inches of snow soon turned to 2-4 inches, which ended up amounting to less than an inch. People were furious with the wrong prediction and the title of this post was a quote on our weather channel’s Facebook page. I had stocked up on lots of groceries just in case and even took work home thinking we would be stuck at home come Monday. Since I already had everything I needed I made 2 new recipes this weekend. One was a potato soup…

    5 on Friday

Let’s do this! One. The great thing about going to the gym regularly is that you actually start to miss it when you aren’t able to go a day. I love these 4 simple rules. Two.  Lucky’s Market opened recently and I went for the first time last week. They have natural, organic, and locally grown fruits, vegetables, and meats, along with all the other typical grocery store items. They reminded me of Whole Foods, but without the super high price tag. I got all the food below including steaks AND ribs for $21.00! There are only 5 Lucky’s throughout the US, but it looks like they have several opening…
