Summer Bucket List 2018

Ahhh Summer. I can’t believe I’m about to type this but… I think I might like Summer even more than fall. There’s just something about sunshine, patio sitting, snow cones, and being outside, despite the sweltering temperatures, that makes me giddy.

Every Summer I like to create a bucket list of things we want to do and experience while also trying to not let the Type A in me take over and stress about getting everything checked off. It’s my goal this Summer to really try and be a little more laid back and embrace later bedtimes, missed baths, and spontaneous late night ice cream runs. Here’s what else we plan to do.

//Explore 3 new (to us) parks//

Whether they’re playground parks or state parks, there’s a lot we haven’t been to.

//Pizza by the Pool//

The boys won’t have to leave the pool and I won’t have to make dinner so everybody wins.

//Camp in our living room//

We’ve done this several years now and it’s always a hit.

//Try as many flavors of snow cones as possible//

I like to keep this one on our list. You can never have too many snow cones.

//Go one day without technology//

All of us. I may have lost my mind.

//Create the perfect S’Mores bar and make them with friends//

I’m looking at you Reese’s Cup.

//Go Berry Picking//

We’ve got an appointment scheduled at our favorite spot.

//Visit the farmer’s market//

//Enroll in the Summer reading program at our library//

Always a fun way to get your kids to read.

//Grill the perfect steak//

Who says only guys can grill?

//Watch a movie at the Drive In//

//Have a night-time swim party//

Complete with glow sticks.

//Visit the state fair//

//Kids cook dinner//

Mom and dad are taking the night off and it’s up to the boys to whip up something to eat (under supervision of course).

//30 Outfits in 30 Days//

Starting tomorrow I’m participating in a 30 day challenge where I don’t re-wear the same outfit or buy any new clothes for 30 days. Check out tomorrow’s 5 on Friday for more details.

//Make homemade ice cream//

I still haven’t used my Kitchen Aid Mixer attachment and it’s about time.
