I don’t know if it’s quarantine and Covid or if I’ve just fully embraced the holiday, but this is the first year I’ve decorated for Halloween. We’ve always had pumpkins and the occasional fake spider, but this year I felt inspired to go spooky and even embrace skeletons to create this super easy mantel. And the best part is, it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg 🙂
Everything used to create the mantel can be found at Dollar Tree, Bullseye’s Playground (Target Dollar Spot), or Walmart. I actually picked up the fake spiders and skeleton hand last year after Halloween for 75% off.

Skeleton Hands // Similar from Walmart
Woven Cloth // Dollar Tree
Spiders // Dollar Tree or Amazon
Cobwebs // Dollar Tree
Boo Banner (old Dollar Spot) // Similar, Similar, Similar
These skull candle stick holders are my favorite addition to the mantel and another easy DIY. I found these skulls on a pedestal at the Dollar Tree and cut a small hole in the top and then just stuck a candle stick in.
I know you can buy little plastic bats on Amazon but I just cut these out of some basic black construction paper and attached them to the wall with painter’s tape.
