    Gulf Shores, Alabama: Part II

After a full day at the beach, we decided to explore the area. We took a dolphin cruise that also included a swamp tour to see alligators. The captains on this particular cruise were fantastic and they let the kids sit with them and drive the boat a lot. They also sold snacks on board for $1 which was nice when they started to meltdown. My only complaint was that the tour was a little long and the kids had to keep their life jackets on the entire time. I’m glad the company out safety first but do you know how hard it is to keep a life jacket on…

    Gulf Shores Alabama: Part 1

I figured I better post about our summer vacation before summer is over. In the middle of June we made the 14 hour drive to Gulf Shores, Alabama. We went with my parents and sister and her family and it was the boys’ first trip to the beach.  We decided to leave at 11:00pm on Friday night so the boys would sleep a good portion of the trip. We stopped at a McDonalds in the morning for breakfast and to give the boys a chance to run around. This particular McDonalds had the coolest play place and they boys loved these ball tubes. Between stops and traffic the drive ended…

The Bachelorette Hits Chicago {Places, Food, & Reviews)

Today I’m telling you all about where we stayed, what we ate, and what we thought about it all. To see pictures of people not just our food, check out this post from earlier. Let’s start with our hotel. We stayed at the Omni on Michigan Ave in a double bed suite. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re going with a larger group. The couch in the living room pulls out to a queen size bed and you can also request a rollaway from the front desk. The location of the hotel was perfect and right in heart of everything. We were directly across from the Apple Store and next door to…

    The Bachelorette Hits Chicago

Anyone who knows me knows that I love Chicago. After all, I almost moved there 5 years ago right before we found out baby Ben was on the way.  So imagine my excitement when my friend Alissa said that she wanted to go to Chicago for her bachelorette party. I’m going to recap all the details of our trip and then do a separate post all about where we stayed, restaurants and food, places to visit, etc. The Bride to Be Our friend Lindsey who also happens to be a doctor and she helped deliver Jack.  This is the best the bellman at our hotel could do. It’s unfortunate. Dinner at…

    Branson’s Cancelled.

Due to massive amounts of snow in Branson, our plans for a holiday weekend getaway were changed at the last minute. And literally the last minute as we were already on the road. Although we got hardly any snow in the central part of the state, the Ozarks ended up getting 12 inches so we made the right decision even though we were disappointed. With the car already packed, Memaw, Pampaw, and my sister’s entire family in tow, we decided to head to snowless Kansas City instead. Although Ben wasn’t as thrilled about KC as he was Branson, we made the best of it and had a good time despite the freezing…
