    Kansas City Zoo

    Normally when we make a trip to the zoo we head to St. Louis. It’s the zoo I always went to growing up, it’s big without being too big, and it’s free. During our last visit, the zoo was under a lot of construction which really limited what animals we got to see. A few weekends ago we had the most perfect weather so the kids and I decided to try out the Kansas City Zoo. The KC Zoo was recently remodeled and had a lot of new exhibits including Polar Bears. This zoo is HUGE and there is a lot of walking. You can tell the zoo was built…

    Branson’s Cancelled.

    Due to massive amounts of snow in Branson, our plans for a holiday weekend getaway were changed at the last minute. And literally the last minute as we were already on the road. Although we got hardly any snow in the central part of the state, the Ozarks ended up getting 12 inches so we made the right decision even though we were disappointed. With the car already packed, Memaw, Pampaw, and my sister’s entire family in tow, we decided to head to snowless Kansas City instead. Although Ben wasn’t as thrilled about KC as he was Branson, we made the best of it and had a good time despite the freezing…

    Kansas City Trip Review {Lego Land & The T-Rex Cafe}

    A few weekends ago we took our last little trip as a family of 3. We wanted to get out of town one last time before I got too close to my due date and couldn’t travel. We made the hour and a half drive to Kansas City and went straight to Lego Land where we built towers, made and raced cars, and rode a few rides. Ben had a blast and J may have loved it just as much as Ben. The earthquake tower. You built a tower and then pressed a button which shook the table. The goal was to build a tower that wouldn’t fall down. Building…

    The Color Run

    I hope you all had a fantastic Fourth of July. I’m so jealous of all my co-workers who have the next 2 days off! Last weekend my dad and I participated in the 5k Color Run in Kansas City. The race was on Saturday and Sunday and over 25,000 people participated making it the largest Color Run yet. Even better, proceeds went to the KC Ronald McDonald House which provides a place for families with sick children to stay while their child is in the hospital or receiving treatment. Early last Summer my dad had two knee replacements and although he has worked out and biked since then, this was…

    Bachelorette Party in Kansas City

    See these ladies? These are just a few of the ladies that helped make my bachelorette party one I’ll never forget. We went to Kansas City and stayed at the Sheraton on the Country Club Plaza. We shopped and laughed and shopped some more. Did I mention there was laughing? Lots and lots of laughing. It’s amazing what time with good friends can do for a person. I also got some amazing gifts. I’m so glad I won’t have to wear my pajama pants with the hole in the butt on my wedding night. What would I do without these girls? My friend Molly couldn’t make it to my shower a few weekends…
