5 on Friday

Friday, Friday

First of all I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who sent sweet thoughts, prayers, and condolences on the loss of my father in-law. His funeral was Tuesday and the thing we heard from people over and over again was what a self-less and kind person he was and it is so true. We are slowly getting back into the routine of things around here and there’s a sense of peace that we didn’t have before. God is good all the time.

Now let’s get to my 5 from this week!

I may not like the PSL or any other pumpkin flavored food for that matter, but it doesn’t mean I don’t love the smell of it. Bath and Body Works knows how to do fall scents and I stocked up to make sure both my house and my hands smell like the season.

When J’s dad was still in the hospital, he and his brother stayed there with his mom the last couple of nights. My brother in law is a single dad so I kept my niece last weekend so he could be at the hospital. We were a circus going through the Dunkin Donuts drive thru lane. And because I obviously don’t have a girl, I took full advantage when my niece agreed to let me straighten her hair. Doesn’t she look SO cute. She kept calling it her princess hair.

A Chick-Fil-A finally opened in our town and as usual the nuggets did not disappoint. The line wasn’t too bad despite people camping out the night before the opening. wtf. And I’m not sure if it was because it was opening week or we had a little bit of a wait, but we also got a free gift card for breakfast. Go us.

This might be TMI if you’re not a parent, but Jack’s been a peeing in the potty maniac. He gets a fun size piece of candy every time he goes so even if he doesn’t really need to go, he’ll squeeze out a few drops just to get candy. Unfortunately he learned the hard way that unlike M&M’s, Kit Kats melt in your hand just as much as they do in your mouth. At least it wasn’t poop. #positiveparenting

I’m kind of obsessed with vests and have been pining different ways to wear them this fall and winter. The great thing is I already have almost everything needed to complete these looks, but I would have never thought to put certain things together.
Have a great weekend!
