Magic Kingdom was by far my favorite of the 3 parks we went to. The fall decorations were out and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. We made our way to main street and before our eyes there it was. Cinderella’s Castle.
We also happened to arrive just in time for the Celebrate It parade.
When the parade was over we made our way to Tomorrowland for the Carousel of Progress. This isn’t so much of a ride as a moving theater that shows the progress of one family across different times in history. Both J and I remember this from when we were little.
After the little history lesson we rode Stitch’s Great Escape, which was a little bit of a let down and then hoped over to one of Ben’s favorites, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.
Look who happened to be waiting just outside the ride. Ben almost couldn’t control himself.
The classic Tea Cup ride was a must do after a quick family picture by the castle.
On the way to grab some lunch we stumbled upon a sword fight between Peter Pan and Captain Hook.
By the time the show was over, we were feeling a little tired so we grabbed some lunch and rode the train around the park while we relaxed. The train is an additional cost but not much and so worth it if you’re feeling tired and want a break from walking.
After the train we rode Dumbo, It’s a Small World, and The Haunted Mansion. I thought the Haunted Mansion might be too scary for Ben but he ended up loving it and we rode it twice. During this time we also grabbed fast passes for Peter Pan’s Flight.
It’s a Small World doesn’t have Fast Passes and we ended up waiting 30-45 minutes which was the longest we waited for a ride.
As the sun started to set we rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This was the first BIG roller coaster Ben had ever ridden and he did great. He was a little scared at first, but he managed to do it, have fun, and not cry:) J and I both really liked this ride as well and got Fast Passes to go again later that night. The fast passes weren’t good until after 10:00 so it was fun to ride it at night.
After riding Peter Pan’s flight we claimed our spots on Main Street for the Electrical Parade. Make sure to get a spot early as all the good space gets taken up quickly!
After the parade we went and grabbed dinner at a restaurant and waited for the fireworks show to begin. We got seats outside at a restaurant right by the castle. Unfortunately, just as we got our food, the show started and we realized we couldn’t see hardly any of the fireworks:( It was still neat to see the castle lit up to music and change colors.
Even though it was late, we were all ready to ride some more rides! We rode The Barnstormer and then headed to use our fast pass for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. You’ll notice that we chose not to go back to the hotel during the day and instead just let Ben nap in the stroller when he needed. I know this doesn’t work for all kids, but it worked for us and allowed us to fit in everything we wanted to see and do.
When we got off Big Thunder we noticed that Splash Mountain didn’t have a wait. We were hesitant about going on it since we’d seen people walk away from it soaking wet. We decided to take a chance and were so glad we did. We sat in the middle of the car and got just a little splash of water. The most excitement on the ride happened as it was coming to an end. They ended up having to shut it down due to an unruly rider who wouldn’t sit down.
By the time the ride was over we had shut the park down and Magic Kingdom was closing for the night. The minute Ben climbed in the stroller he was out and didn’t wake up until the next morning. Magic Kingdom was a long day, but one of the best days ever.
