    Weekend Recap

I’m going to start this post with the two cliches I’m sure every blogger is probably writing at the beginning of their posts today…this weekend went by way too fast and I can’t believe Christmas is on Thursday.  Before I recap our weekend, was anyone else underwhelmed by the Homeland season finale last night or was it just me? This was technically on Thursday, but we got our first real snow of the season. It was only about 2 inches, but there were so many accidents and people sliding off roads. The road in front of our house and Jack’s daycare was temporarily closed due to accidents blocking the roadway.…

    Weekend Recap

On Friday night Jack’s preschool performed the Nutcracker for their Christmas program. Jack’s class were all snowflakes and he was so cute! I didn’t get any good pictures due to the lighting in the theater, but we managed to take some great video. The following morning both boys were up early and insisted on sitting in my lap when they woke up. Despite not being able to breathe, I love the morning snuggles.  Ben made “cars” out of some diaper boxes we had lying around and J tied them together with a rope for a fun sleigh ride around the living room. We managed to have a successful trip to…

    5 on Friday

How is Christmas less than 2 weeks away?! I have a few gifts left to get and I hope to knock those out this weekend. One. Ben came down with a stomach bug yesterday but it seemed to be short lived and he was feeling better by the end of the day. You know this wild man doesn’t feel good when he sleeps all day. Two. I volunteered to help put together Ben’s school directory and have spent the last few nights organizing and entering addresses and phone numbers into excel. It amazes me how messy some people’s handwriting is or how some parent’s let their kids fill out the…

What to Say (and not) When Others Are Grieving

Blogging is a great way to share about all the wonderful things happening in life. But not everything that people post on the internet is wonderful. Life can also be filled with sadness, deep personal loss, and unimagniable grief.  I’ve read several posts lately from bloggers that have experienced a miscarriage. For some it’s their first, for others it’s another loss. Each time I read one of these posts I feel sad but also inspired at the strength and courage these women have to share such a personal experience. One thing I started to notice was the comments people left on these posts. Some were touching and heartfelt and others,…

    Christmas Cheer Blogger Exchange

I had the chance to participate in a blogger swap and got my box filled with Christmas goodies few days ago. My partner was the ADORABLE Nelle at Vintage Simply Love and she filled my box with so many wonderful goodies! I kept ooooing and awwwing as I took each thing out. As soon as I saw the gold glittery dot tissue paper I knew I was in for something good! I’m already obsessed with that EOS lip balm and the pickle ornament which is already hanging on our tree. I can’t wait to try out all the other goodies and put my hair up in those adorable hair ties. Thank you so much…
