    Cavemen + Woman

    We didn’t take a big family vacation this Summer and instead vowed to see what our great state had to offer. When a local state park was offering cave tours we jumped at the chance to go on a mini adventure close to home. I honestly had no idea this park had a waterfall. Even if it is really really tiny. Listening intently to the rules of caving. The cave was pitch black inside and at one point we were all asked to turn our flashlights off to see just how dark it gets. Let’s just say I held onto the boys extra tight during those 5 seconds. Besides a…

    MO State Fair

    I’m determined to recap the rest of our Summer before Fall is fully underway. A few weekends ago we did the quintessential Summer thing and went to our state fair with my mother and brother in law, and niece. We hadn’t been in several years and not much had changed except this time I was wise enough to steer clear of the corn dogs. Instead we settled on snow cones for the kids, “adult” snow cones for the grown ups, and lots of rides and memories. When your fake tattoo apparently hurts like a real tattoo 🙂 Of all the rides the Merry-Go-Round was his favorite. Neither Jack or daddy…

    Friday, Friday

    I just love Fridays so much. And even though this week was a short one, it was packed full so I’m ready for a little weekend relaxation. I’m linking up with Christina, Amanda, Karli, & Erika for this Friday’s five. //one// I must recreate this outfit this Fall. The scarf, the burgundy sweater mixed the tan and booties. It’s all perfection. via //two// Fall ball started last week for Ben and I just can’t get over how cute he looks each time he puts on a uniform. He’s on a new team this season since most of friends on his old team decided to take a season off. //three// If you missed this post earlier this week…

    Weekend Recap {Labor Day Weekend}

    I’m linking up with Annie to share our 3 day weekend which was pretty darn perfect. It was a great mix of relaxing and getting things done, but it left me wishing that all weekends were three days long 🙁 My friend and hairstylist Melissa was able to squeeze me in for a last minute color and cut late Friday afternoon. I’m loving my blunt cut bob and styling it in the morning is SO much easier.  Friday night we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner with J’s family. Anyone else’s kids love this place solely for the peanuts and rolls? The boys went home with my MIL for the night so…

    Summer Bucket List {Review}

    Now that Summer is officially over it’s time to see how we did with our Summer Bucket List. 1. Watch a movie in the park RAINED OUT. TWICE. 2. Go berry picking DONE You can read about our trip here. Next year I hope we can go earlier in the season before most of the strawberries are already picked. 3. Finish the upper and lower patios Ha! But we did re-do the guest bathroom on the main floor as well as the playroom. This item will be moving to our Fall Bucket list when the temperatures have cooled down. 4. Play in the rain NOPE Not sure why we didn’t get…
