    Trust in the Lord

For He is good. Wondering where I have been and why the lack of posting? Well that’s because I started a new job!!!! I didn’t want to post anything until it was official and with the first full week under my belt, I’d say it’s more than official:) My official title is Behavior Analyst and I’m doing pretty much the same thing that I did at my old job, but with a lot more freedom to be creative and create programs, groups, etc. Not to mention I’m re-united with a co-worker from my old job. You might know her. I’m really really going to miss my old co-workers especially the best…

    Pre-Easter Festivities

I’m going to break our Easter into two parts to keep this post from getting ridiculously long with a million pictures of my kid picking up eggs. Let’s face it, if you’re not family it’s probably not that interesting. Heck, even if you are family you’ll probably still be bored. The night before Easter we boiled our eggs and got to decorating! J thought it would be a good idea to use the tinniest bowls we have for the dye. Note to self: next year get plastic cups. I also attempted to make “carrots” from white chocolate, orange food coloring, and strawberries. They turned out less than stellar. Dipping the…

    Buds in Bloom

Well Spring was here. Actually it was more like Summer. We’ve had 80 and 90 degree weather for the last couple of weeks and decided to take advantage of it and start our “garden” a little early this year. Of course this morning it was a brisk 45 degrees, so hopefully all our little buds will survive. I say “garden” because it consists of 4 potted plants and some flowers. One day we will hopefully have our dream garden in our dream house, but for now this works for us. And considering last year we got approximately 2 peppers out of everything we planted, I didn’t want to go to a…

    Date Disaster

J was feeling a little under the weather yesterday so I decided to take little man and go on a mommy- son date. We started off with dinner at a Mexican restaurant and he was so excited to be on a date with mommy.  The rest of the night went like this: When is date start? We’re already on the date honey. But this boring mommy. Alright, I thought. Nothing a ring pop and Target can’t cure. I want Ernie. No honey, you already have Ernie at home. I want that bike. Nope, you’ve got one of those too. (Whining begins) And much like all my dates in college, this…

    Light It Up Blue

Today is World Autism Awareness day.  1 in 88. This is the new number the CDC(Center for Disease Control) released last week for the number of children on the autism spectrum. This is an increase in their previous number of 1 in 110. The CDC defines Autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) as “a group of developmental disabilities that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges.  People with ASDs handle information in their brain differently than other people. ASDs are “spectrum disorders.”  That means ASDs affect each person in different ways, and can range from very mild to severe.  People with ASDs share some similar symptoms, such as problems with social interaction.  But there are…
