    5 on Friday

One. Not that I need to tell any of you, but Target has such cute stuff lately. Especially the dollar spot gift bags.  Two. Brotherly love. Three. Remember on my last 5 for Friday I talked about wanting to get my hair done. My stylist was able to squeeze me in and I love it. I’m not to sure how I feel about the middle part but maybe it will grow on me. Now for my swollen pregnant nose to go back to normal.  Four. Jack is all smiles these days. Sometimes when I’m nursing him he’ll give me the biggest grin. Then he gets frazzled because he hasn’t quite…

    Ben’s Big Boy Room

Before the baby came, I knew I wanted to update Ben’s room and give it a new look. I also wanted to get rid of his toddler bed and replace it with a bigger bed since he loves for us to lay with him at night. I had pinned a few inspiration photos and the common theme was navy, white, and gray. I fell in love with this bedding from Pottery Barn Kids, but couldn’t justify spending almost $300 for kids bedding. You can imagine how excited I was to find almost the exact same bedding at Target for a fraction of the price. I was able to get the Queen size…

    5 on Friday

I can’t believe another Friday is already here. The weeks are going by way too fast! I’m linking up again with these lovely ladies. One. I can’t wait to get my post-baby body back. Like most new moms, it’s not going back as fast as I wish it would. I shouldn’t be surprised though when this happens to your body. Two. I’m headed to St. Louis for the weekend tomorrow to celebrate my niece’s birthdays. Hopefully Jack will do great in the hotel and the people in the room next to us won’t be able to hear him cry. Three. My mom officially retired last week as an OB/GYN nurse.…

    Easy Peasy Cheesecake Bars

I have a confession. I’ve never made a cheesecake. And quite frankly, I’m scared to do make one. It just seems like so much work. So, what’s a girl to do when she wants to make something cheese-cakey without whipping up an actual cheesecake? Make Easy Peasy Cheesecake Bars of course!  I followed this recipe, but changed it up a little bit. What You Need: For the crust -1 box yellow cake mix -1/3 cup vegetable oil -1 egg Filling –8 oz. cream cheese -1 egg -1 cup sugar What To Do: 1. Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan. 2. Combine the ingredients for the…

    Monday’s Musings

Truth be told, I started this post with the intentions of posting it last Monday. Life just gets in the way of blogging sometimes especially when you have a newborn. Not to start off this post with something depressing, but I can’t believe Kidd Kraddick passed away last weekend. My morning commutes definitely won’t be the same without his early morning commentary.  Last weekend Ben and his cousin participated in a program at our local state park called Nature Detectives. They learned about different animals and bugs that live in streams and then got to catch some in a river. The kids had so much fun and we will definitely…
