    Weekend Recap

    How was everyone’s weekend? Ours was pretty darn good. It’s amazing what some warm temperatures and sunshine does for the soul? It was almost 90 degrees here on Saturday and today there is a chance of snow. I wish I was kidding.  We busted out the Summer clothes and Jack was not liking the shorts. When you can’t walk and rely on crawling as your main mode of getting around, concrete + shorts doesn’t work out too well.   I went grocery shoping all by myself and it was heavenly. I grabbed a Sonic happy hour drink beforehand and was able to shop in peace and quiet. I stocked up on…

    5 on Friday

    I don’t know about you all, but I’m ready for this week to be over! I’m hoping our weekend is stress free and we can have some fun. One. The weather has been beautiful the past couple of days. Instead of going to the gym the other night, I took the boys and we hit up the trail. Ben pedaled his little heart out and I noticed his current bike is way too small for him. Jack loves that he gets to sit in his stroller like a big man. He just looked around and would start screeching every time his brother rode away. Two. Cassie over at Hi Sugarplum! created these…

    Too Much.

    Can I be honest? I’m feeling super overwhelmed. Life’s not always filled with smiling kids, perfect recipes, and cute outfits. This week has been a sh*t show.  I feel like the last couple of weeks I just can’t catch up. I’m so overwhelmed and as much as I try to get all my sh*t together, other people and things out of my control seem to get in the way and I don’t like to not be in control. Everyone needs something from me. And they need it now. Clients, friends, family. I also have a real problem with saying no.  My house needs a good deep cleaning. I know all you moms…

    Still Hot at 40 {A Surprise Birthday Party}

    On Saturday we celebrated my sister’s 40th birthday with a surprise party. The theme was “Still hot at 40.” My sister and I are almost a decade apart, so growing up I always jealous of all the fun grown-up things she got to do before me like going on dates and wearing make-up.  I kept the party pretty simple so there wasn’t too much prep. I made the easiest party favors, mod-podged some pictures on the number 40, and ordered a cake with my a picture of my then 13 year old sister’s face on it. Once the margaritas started flowing I didn’t take too many pictures, but my sister…

    5 on Friday: Autism Awareness

    Happy Friday! I can’t believe we’re already four days into April. April marks the beginning of Autism Awareness Month and I’m so privileged to work with children with autism and their families every day. I’m switching it up this Friday and sharing 5 things about autism to help increase awareness.  One. 1 in 68. The number of individuals diagnosed with autism. The CDC released this new number last week which is an increase from just two years ago when the number was 1 in 88. Two. Although scientists and researchers are still looking at causes, we do know it is a combination of both genetic and environmental factors. We also…
