You still love to eat and breastfeeding is going strong. You eat every two hours, sometimes less and sometimes more. During the night you usually go 4 hours in between feedings. You have had a few ounces of formula here and there, but 99% of the time you drink breast milk. When I pump, you drink anywhere from 2-4 oz and if we let you, I’m sure you would gobble down more. You love you some milk. Burping on the other hand is few and far between and your lack of burping sometimes causes you spit up which you hate. You started drooling a lot and recently have started sucking on your hand and fingers. You and your pacifier have a luke warm relationship. Every once in a while you will take it, but for the most part we put it in and you spit it out.
We will find out what you weigh next week but I’m guessing around 11 lbs. You have outgrown your newborn clothes and are in 0-3 months clothes and size 1 diaper.
I am so thankful that, for the most part, you’re a good sleeper. You usually take a morning nap anywhere between 9am and 10am and sleep until 12:30pm or 1:00pm. You eat when you wake up and then go back to sleep for a little bit. You usually stay awake from 2:30pm until 5:00pm, then it’s a quick nap in the car while we pick up brother and then you’re awake until bedtime. You go to bed between 8:00-9:00pm and sleep until 1:00-2:00am, nurse, sleep until 4:00-5:00am, nurse again, and sleep until 6:30-7:00am when it’s time to wake up for the day. You still sleep swaddled in your sleep sack and in the swing, but I’m going to be moving you to the bassinet to see how you do in there. Hopefully you won’t wake yourself up!
The most exciting thing you’ve done this past month is smile and laugh, and you are still cooing away. Your social smile emerged around 5 weeks and is just so darn cute. You love it when people talk to you and your brother loves talking to you. You grin so big and sometimes will just laugh and laugh. It melts my heart! You continue to love baths and if you’re upset, giving you a bath calms you down right away. You don’t love getting out of it though and you also can’t stand being in the car in your car seat if we’re not moving. You’re also reaching more towards items and toys, especially the ones hanging on your play mat.
We just love you so much!
