Well…this weekend didn’t end up going quite as we planned, but we made the best of it and managed to enjoy the almost 90 degree weather. Only in the midwest can it be 50 degrees one day and 90 the next.
Friday night my in-laws wanted to keep the boys so J and I did what every other young crazy couple does on a Friday night; we got in our pjs, ate Chipotle on the couch, and rented The Purge Anarchy. Neither of us really love scary movies, but I guess we were in the Halloween spirit. Anyone else talk through scary movies to help you feel better?
Saturday I was up early cleaning and organizing our garage. By the end I was sweaty and disgusting, but I’m so glad it’s done.
While I was cleaning, I saw this little guy. Remind me to tell you the story of how one of these almost ruined first grade for me.
The boys came home just as I finished the garage so we played outside and they managed to drag out every outdoor toy I had just organized and put away.
Have you all tried this cracked black pepper turkey breast. It is really good and a nice change from the regular ole turkey.
We had originally planned to go to the zoo on Sunday, but the minute I got Jack out of his crib I knew he had a fever. He had slept great through the night and was playing and (eating) as usual so I think he might be teething. Between the fever and the sudden heat wave, we decided to save the zoo for next weekend. We headed to our favorite Mexican place for lunch along with half of the town. Although it took forever to get our food, the boys enjoyed feeding the fish and Ben enjoyed a virgin strawberry daiquiri.
After lunch we came home and carved pumpkins. Jack was both terrified and bored during the whole process.
Ben painted that little pumpkin for Jack, even though it’s quite terrifying to look at.
