Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and I don’t know about you, but the less I prepare, the more I end up paying for it (in both money and stress). 5 Senses DIY Valentine Gift

J and I have celebrated 13 Valentine’s Days together. That’s 13 years of trying to find new and creative ways to let J know just how much I love him. After so many years together it’s easy to get stuck in a rut or by-pass the holiday altogether. We are pretty predictable in how we celebrate; J usually gets me flowers, we go to a nice dinner (on any day but the 14th to avoid crowds) and I get him something small like a bottle of booze or underwear.

5 Fourth of July Themed Foods

There’s not much I love more than a good theme. My kids’ abundance of flag swim trunks and holiday themed pajamas are proof. 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. The fireworks, spending time with family and friends, and of course celebrating our freedom, makes the day so special and fun. And let’s not forget the food. Whether you like to spend the day snacking or having a full on bbq, I’m sharing 5 Fourth of July Themed Foods that are perfect for the holiday!

    Thanksgiving Weekend Recap

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had a nice long break made even longer by a snow day yesterday. The kids have been out of school since Wednesday so I’m glad we’re finally getting back into our normal routine today. Despite blizzard conditions on Sunday night, the weather during the week of Thanksgiving was beautiful. We took advantage of the 60+ degrees with lots of time outside and an open sunroof.

    Labor Day Weekend 2018

We had the best Labor Day weekend filled with friends, pool time, and very little laundry. I don’t think I put on makeup once the entire 3 day weekend and I basically rotated between swimsuits and pajamas.  A new Asian restaurant opened this week and a few of us tried out their steamed buns. They were so good I made J eat them with me on Friday night and we both agreed it may be one of the top 5 foods we’ve ever had.
