Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap

Can I be honest? I didn’t have one ounce of patience left in me when I put the kids to bed last night. I was done. J finished up a big project for a client and was gone pretty much the whole weekend. Jack pretended to pee on his brothers head, Ben taught Jack to climb up the railing of our stairs, and they both loudly protested any kind of cleaning. And by cleaning I mean picking up their various pairs of underwear scattered around the house. But, the weekend wasn’t all bad, and in between moments of me loosing my sanity we managed to have fun and I actually got some things crossed off my to-do list.
Pottery Barn always seem to provide a pick me up and I can’t wait to hang this wreath once spring arrives.
Saturday morning we headed to our local HyVee grocery store for a Pajama and Pancake Celebration in honor of national pancake week. They had activities for the kids and of course pancakes and the kids loved that they got to wear their pjs while we grocery shopped afterwards.
The weather was beautiful again this weekend and I forgot how nice it is not to have to lug coats around. I wore my Kendra Scott inspired necklace out to lunch later in the day.
Ben requested a picture of him eating. And then requested I blog it. So here ya go.
I’m hosting a baby shower for my best friend in about a month and mailed out the final invitations. This is her 3rd baby and although some people think you shouldn’t have a shower I’m always inclined to disagree. Why should the 3rd baby be left out and not celebrated just because he’s 3rd? Bring on the party! I ordered the invites from Blue French Designs on ETSY and love how they turned out.
Biggest cinnamon roll ever.
A little butt naked “reading.” Notice the chapter book.
Followed by time outside to burn off all that energy. His toddler Bible also joined us outside and baby Moses was called baby Jesus all weekend long despite me telling him no less than 10 times that baby Jesus did in fact not float down the river in a basket.
For an afternoon snack the kids and I tried out this cookie butter recipe from Pinterest. It made the perfect little sized cookies which were not too sickeningly sweet.
I ended the weekend excited to watch the Oscars especially since I find Chris Rock to be pretty funny and J and I have actually watched many of the movies that were nominated. I thought there were a lot of fashion fails this year, but my favorite dressed actresses were Maria Menounos,  Cate Blanchett, Sophia Vergara, Jennifer Garner, Brie Larson, and Sarah Silverman.
And although I didn’t love Kate Winslet’s dress, I adore this picture.

Have a great Monday!

Linking up with Biana for Weekending.
