At the end of April we headed to St. Louis for a long weekend and to participate in a Bubble Run. Unfortunately the day of the run was cold, windy, and rainy and although they still had the race, we opted out and filled our time with other things around the city. Although we’ve been to St. Louis tons of times, there’s always something new to do with each visit. J had to work so my parents, sister and her family packed up and headed off Friday morning with our first stop at the Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company. I came across this place on Trip Advisor and while the tour isn’t very…

Wedding Weekend in St. Louis
This past weekend I was in St. Louis for a co-worker/friend’s wedding. Joy was such a beautiful bride and she wore two different dresses which were both perfect. The wedding was at 2:00pm followed by dinner and a reception at the church. Later that night there was a second reception on the rooftop terrace of the hotel where everyone was staying. Although we had grand plans to party all night, we may or may not have been in bed by 10:00pm. I know. At least we were well rested to head home the next morning and I did surprisingly well for the first night away from Jack. Congratulations Joy!

The Day Our Sh*t Got Stolen
Remember how I told you in this post that our car got broken into in St. Louis? Yeah, fun times. Myself, my parents, and my sister and her family went to St. Louis for the weekend to celebrate both of my niece’s birthdays. I rode with my parents and J was meeting up with us Sunday morning. We had a great day Saturday filled with a trip to the zoo, swimming at the hotel pool, and dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Sunday we checked out of our hotel and headed to the City Museum. We paid to park at a lot near the museum and then spent the day playing and having…

My First Half Marathon
Finally… the recap from my first half marathon! On October 23rd, I ran my first 1/2 marathon in St. Louis, MO. The most important thing? I survived. While my time was anything but stellar, (3:28) I finished. All the training, running, getting up early, it was all worth it. Something about running with 20,000 other people is just so exciting. The run started downtown facing the Arch. The race began in waves, and you were lumped in corrals with other runners based on your estimated finishing time. It was still dark out when it was time to line up at 6:30am. I started off at a good pace and finished…
