It’s the first day of June and I’m determined to make this summer one of our best ones yet. One of my personal goals for this Summer is to really let go of control and focus on just having fun which can be hard for my type-A self. Want to play in the rain? Sure. Wear your favorite shirt 3 days in a row? Why not?
I created this Spring Bucket List back in March but we didn’t get to much of it so I’m adding some of the things to our summer list.
//Try as many flavors of shaved ice as possible//
Because why not. A new place opened up in town and with over 50 flavors the possibilities are endless.
//Go on a picnic//
I found the cutest picnic basket at a yard sale that needs to be put to good use.
//Camp in our living room//
The boys still talk about this from last Summer.
//Make Homemade Popsicles//
We made these Triple Berry ones, but after browsing Pinterest I think I need to step up my game.
//Fly a kite//
The boys got kites a few years ago and they’ve just been sitting in the closet so it’s time to break them out. Now if only we can keep them in the air.
//Explore 3 new (to us) state parks//
There’s several that have waterfalls or swimming holes that look like fun.
//Go Berry Picking//
We’ve got an appointment scheduled at our favorite spot and can’t wait to try all the fresh berries!
//Visit the farmer’s market//
And keep Jack from eating every tomato in sight.
//Watch a movie in the park//
Our city does this once a month and while it was on our list last Summer, we got rained each time we tried to go.
//Attend a baseball game//
Ben’s attended a few games, but Jack’s never been (2nd child problems).
//Go to the state fair//
Our annual tradition.
//Make homemade strawberry shortcake//
Maybe using some of our freshly picked strawberries.
//Make a bird feeder//
Jack is obsessed with birds at the moment so we might as well feed them while we’re looking at them.
//Go on a nature scavenger hunt//
Exercise for me, fun activity for the kids. Win win.
//Trip to Arkansas//
J has some family that lives there plus they’ve got some amazing parks and hiking trails.
//Summer reading program at our library//
Gotta keep their brains sharp over summer break 🙂
//Make homemade ice cream//
I have an ice cream maker that attaches to my KitchenAid Mixer so all I need to do is find the perfect recipe.
What are you up to this Summer?
