When we first booked our honeymoon the plan was to fly into Rome and then immediately hop on the train and stay in Florence for 4 days, then come back to Rome for the remaining time. A few months before the wedding the thought of having to change hotels halfway through our honeymoon seemed less than appealing so we decided to stay in Rome the entire time and take day trips to neighboring cities. I am so glad we decided to do this and it ended up working out great. We headed to Florence on our 3rd day. The train station or “termini” was a short 10 minute cab ride…

Honeymoon in Italy {Day 2 in Rome}
After having a little bit of trouble falling asleep our first night, J and I slept in the second day and ate breakfast in our hotel. That’s one of the things I love most about vacations. You can do whatever you please whenever you want. Most days we didn’t eat lunch until 2 or 3pm and dinner around 9pm. After breakfast we hopped in a taxi to the Colosseum. Where we feared for our lives the entire car ride. The taxi drivers in Rome were some of the worst drivers I have ever seen. I don’t mean they’re bad as in New York city bad where drivers go really fast…

Honeymoon in Italy {Getting There & Day 1 in Rome}
Here it is folks. Finally a post about the honeymoon. We were gone a total of 9 days and have a ton of pictures so I decided to break our trip up into a few different posts. After doing lots of research on airlines and hotels, reading thousands of reviews, and then obsessing some more I decided to go with American Airlines and we stayed at the Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora. Our flight was set to leave St. Louis at 1:30 pm on Sunday May 5th and we were to arrive in Rome on Monday May 6th at 9:30am. For the first time EVER, we were at the airport with more…

Bachelorette Party in Kansas City
See these ladies? These are just a few of the ladies that helped make my bachelorette party one I’ll never forget. We went to Kansas City and stayed at the Sheraton on the Country Club Plaza. We shopped and laughed and shopped some more. Did I mention there was laughing? Lots and lots of laughing. It’s amazing what time with good friends can do for a person. I also got some amazing gifts. I’m so glad I won’t have to wear my pajama pants with the hole in the butt on my wedding night. What would I do without these girls? My friend Molly couldn’t make it to my shower a few weekends…

St. Louis City Museum
This weekend was a 2 year old’s dream. If you haven’t been to the City Museum in St. Louis you’re seriously missing out. This museum is way less of a museum and way more like a science center, play area, and big building of fun. And because I could never possibly tell you about everything they have go to their website here to learn more. You know you’re in a cool place when there’s a school bus and Ferris Wheel on the roof. I highly recommend wearing tennis shoes and comfortable clothing. There are lots of areas to climb, crawl, and slide through and you’ll want to be comfortable. And when you…
