    Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! Unfortunately I don’t get to celebrate Columbus Day (officially), but for all of you that do I hope you’re enjoying the day off!   The weekend started off with a mani and pedi thanks to a gift card I got for my birthday from my friend Alissa. Thanks lis! I got Essie’s Lincoln Park After Dark on my nails. I tend to only do this color when I get gel nails as it’s a really dark purple and smudges and chips easily with just the regular polish.   Friday night I hung out with my friend Meghan and her family. Ben loves Meghan’s husband and I think it has a lot…

    Friday, Friday

As usual I’m linking up with the fabulous Christina, Karli, & Amanda for all things Friday so let’s get to it! //one// About a month ago I went to a local nursery and bought some mums for several pots that, if we’re being honest, the flowers had died a long time ago. What is it about the mum that just screams fall? //two// In yesterday’s post I showed this picture of me wearing a pair of Kendra Scott inspired earrings. I not only got one pair, but 2 others in a different color as well as a pair of hassle earrings which I’m still undecided on. I got them from AliExpress.com and they were something like…

    Birthday in Chicago

Well hello. Sorry for the lack of posting, but between life and turning the big 3-0 we’ve been busy over here. J and I headed off to Chicago Friday morning for a long weekend in the windy city. And windy it was. The weather was not quite ideal (cloudy, windy, and 55 degrees), but that didn’t stop us from bundling up and making the best of it.  We stayed at the Intercontinental Chicago right on Michigan Ave. I’ve stayed at here before and you can’t beat the location. It tends to be on the pricer side, but many people report that they have gotten this hotel on Hotwire so you may take…

    Thirty

When I was 16 I definitely remember thinking 30 was SO old. I’ve never been one to shy away from the thought of getting older and now that I’m here it seems less like old lady status and more like maturity mixed with I can’t possibly be 30. My 20’s brought the biggest life changes thus far-marriage, babies, house buying, graduating college and graduate school, big girl jobs, moving, and so much more. I hope my thirties are jam packed with just as much as good stuff as my twenties and much fewer hangovers (I’m looking at you 21). Cheers to thirty! via via via Linking up with Annie for Thoughts of…

    Weekend Recap

Like most of the world, we spent last night trying to see the supermoon lunar eclipse but sadly it was pretty cloudy here. We got to see the beginning of it and we did get about a minute break from the clouds during it, but other than that it was a whole lot of nothing. J and Ben hopped in the car and drove several miles from the house to see if they could get past the clouds but didn’t have much luck. This was our view most of the time. But I managed to grab a few good pics. Backing up to Friday afternoon I went to “Johnny Appleseed’s…
