    Weekend Recap

This weekend was pretty close to perfect. Saturday took it’s time and for once didn’t seem to fly by although the same can’t be said for Sunday. The sunset on Friday night was perfection. I’m not sure if it’s just the view we have from this house or if they really are better than ever, but the sunsets have been so stunning this last year.  Jack was up bright and early Saturday morning which meant an early run for bagels and the realization that winter is quickly approaching.  After breakfast the stairs aligned and I was able to get a few Christmas presents wrapped and the whole house cleaned in…

    Halloween 2016

We had the cutest little Paw Patroler and Lego Man this Halloween. We kicked off celebrations Friday afternoon with Jack’s party at school. Ben’s school does a fun reading day but they don’t have a party. He’s always thrilled by this. 🙂 After the school party we took the boys downtown to trick or treat. This was our first time going and it was awesome. Most of the city buildings, shops, and restaurants hand out candy and it’s neat to see all the other kids’ costumes.  Excited by something other than a tootsie roll. I’m with ya kid. One of the florists decorated their alley into a spooky forrest and…

    Apple Picking

A few weekends ago we crossed another thing off our Fall Bucket List that we have been wanting to do for forever. I will say that the idea of apple picking I had in my head was much different than how it actually played out.  First of all, no one warned me of all the bees. Since the bees were swarming near the dead apples on the ground, my kids (and I) were actually afraid to step close to the trees to pick. Some spots were better than others, but still. It also happened to be a typical Missouri day where it was cool in the morning and in the 80’s by the…

    10 Minute Chicken Parmesan Sliders

These sliders could not be easier to make but it’s the parmesan oregano topping on the bread that takes these to the next level and will have people thinking they took way more than 10 minutes to make. What You’ll Need: 10-15 chicken nuggets/strips 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese 1/2 cup marinera sauce 6 slider buns sliced in half 2 tbsp butter 1/2 tsp oregano 1/2 tsp rosemary 1/2 tsp thyme 1/2 tsp parmesan cheese What To Do: Cook chicken nuggets/tenders according to package (~8 minutes) While chicken is cooking, spray the pan with cooking spray and place the bottom of the buns in the pan. Sprinkle half of the…

    Weekend Recap

Everyone survive the time change? The boys actually stayed the night with my MIL last night so I dodged that bullet, but I’m sure they’ll be up bright and early tomorrow morning for me as well. We’ve had so much going on that I still need to blog about and hopefully things will slow down a little before the rush of the holidays begin. Friday night consisted of pizza, playing, and the show Timeless. Anyone else seen it? This SEVEN cheese pizza from a local pizza place is seriously amazing which is could because we have a ton leftover. The place has two sizes a 12inch and 18inch and let’s…
