    5 on Friday

One. Let’s start with a picture of a baby that’s not mine. I saw this online somewhere and it tickled me so much.  Two. When momma’s out of town for work, the baby gets a bath in the sink. By the look on his face Jack thought it was the best thing ever.  Three. I finally bought all the ingredients to make these Strawberry Shortcake Bars from Iowa Girl Eats. I have made so many of her recipes and have get to make something I didn’t like.  Four. Ben started a new preschool a few weeks ago and to say we love it is an understatement. I’ll share why we…

    Easter 2014

This Easter was one of the best yet. We went to church, hosted Easter lunch for my side of the family, and then traveled to J’s aunt’s house for dinner and another egg hunt. I love Pottery Barn’s Easter baskets and ordered Jack the white one to match Ben’s. When I got it in the mail this week I realized I ordered Jack the large sized basket. I ended up just turning the embroidered names to the back and made Jack’s the little one. I plan to order Ben the larger basket for next year so they’ll match.  I love Jack’s little hand reaching for his goodies. For the table…

    Jack: 10 Month Update

Jackers Snackers Crackers. Not sure why we call you this, but we do:) On Monday you turned 10 months old. Time is passing at lightening speed and it seems as if your “month” birthdays always sneak up on me. Like every month, you continue to learn so many new things. You don’t like to sit still (notice the photos in this post) and you want to walk so bad and you took one step on your own without holding onto anything. I think you scared yourself when you did this and you immediately sat down:) You’re a pro at cruising on furniture and crawl almost as fast as we can…

    Checking In

Hello! Sorry for the unintentional blogging break. Life’s been crazier than usual and the real craziness hasn’t even started yet. I’ll post a full Easter recap along with baby Jack’s 10 month update later this week, but for now I’ll leave you with this picture from Sunday. I’m in love with the bowties that I ordered from Megan. Make sure to check out her ETSY store here.

Chipotle Copycat: Lime & Cilantro Rice

Did you know that when I was pregnant with Jack I couldn’t stand Chipotle? The smell even bothered me. Once Jack was born not only did I start eating Chipotle again but I wanted it all the time.  To avoid breaking the bank by eating Chipotle everyday, I thought I’d recreate one of their signature ingredients, the cilantro lime rice. From the first bite, J proclaimed this recipe was delicious and tasted just like the real deal. I adapted the recipe from Chipotle Fan. What You Need: -1 cup of white rice  -2 tsp fresh cilantro -Juice of half a lime  -1/2 tsp salt What To Do: 1. Cook the rice…
