Goals & Resolutions

Goals & Resolutions 2019 | March Update

I don’t know about you, but the past two months flew by! Before too much time escapes me, I want to do a March update on my goals & resolutions.

Personal development & growth

Read 36 books // I’ve read 10 so far and keep adding more to my “want to read” list. I’m traveling a lot the next couple of months which will hopefully give me even more time to read.

Volunteer in the NICU at our local hospital // I completed the paperwork so now I’m just waiting on some volunteer slots to open up. I can’t wait to snuggle those babies.

Write down 10 things I’m grateful for each day and at least 1 thing I can do each day to bless someone else // Going strong on the 10 but I definitely haven’t been consistent with writing down one thing I can do for someone else.

Be more adventurous with my clothing/style (30 outfits in 30 days) // I added a few new pieces to my closet (hello swimsuits)! Now that spring is here and summer is right around the corner, I hope I’ll be inspired with some new outfit ideas.

Complete monthly goal recaps & feelings from each month // Considering March is my first recap I haven’t done very well with this one. I’m determined to recap the rest of the months.

Try one new thing every month (have the kids do this too) // In January my friend Alissa & I tried a new Yoga class, in February I mircobladded my face, and in March we went to the Great Wolf Lodge.

Blog/Cortney & Co

Post 4 blog posts per week // This has been one of my biggest struggles. Between a full time job, being a mom, taking care of the house, etc. it’s been hard to find time to crank out some posts.

Go on a sponsored trip with the family // Still working on this one 🙂

Grow engagement numbers // I’m making progress and trying really hard to make sure I respond to every comment, message, and email I receive.

Make connections and build relationships with local bloggers // I’ve reached out to a few people and had two people reach out to me. Now comes the hard part of finding time to get together.

Health & Fitness

Workout 4 days per week // After the flu and Spring Break I’m finally back into the routine of working out.

Try at least 5 new workouts or classes // Besides yoga, I took a Jazzercise class last month and will be doing yoga in the park next month. On my list to try are Barre, Orange Theory, and a row class.

Lose 15 pounds by June 1st // I’ve lost 4.1 pounds since January. I’ve got 3 more months to lose another 10 pounds but intermittent fasting has helped so much with how I feel.

Take my lunch to work every day for one month // Doing this one in May.

Family, Home, & Relationships

Monthly date nights with J // We’ve been to the movies and had a lunch date at our favorite Asian restaurant.

Go to Disney World // Still planning on a Christmastime trip, fingers & toes crossed 🙂

Create a solid morning and evening routine for the kids // We’ve got a pretty solid evening routine although things are crazy with evening track practices and t-ball games starting. I’m still figuring out a good morning routine for the kids. Mine is pretty solid, but once they get up, the mornings tend to feel rushed.

Complete one house project each weekend // We’ve done little things here and there but none that would technically count for this goal. Now that the weather’s warming up, I want to tackle some of our outside projects.

Money & Finances

Pay off debt // I’m determined to get a lot of our student loans paid off by the end of the year and we’re chipping away at it.

Continue to save, especially for the boys’ college fund // We ended up changing some of our investments for retirement as well the boys’ college after they weren’t preforming very well. We’ll see how the new do over time.

Find the best card for earning airline miles and cash back // I’m leaning towards the Southwest Card but want to check out a few more cards.

March Feelings // Adventurous, happy, hopeful
