Life + Blog Update

Happy Tuesday! First of all, I want to say THANK YOU for all of your sweet comments and messages about the new blog design and layout. Switching platforms is not easy and it can be very tedious and time consuming, especially when you’re a little Type A 🙂 That being said, I love the new look and how much easier it is for you as a reader to search topics and access previous posts. I’m still making a few tweaks here and there so please be patient if something is wonky or a link doesn’t work.In addition to updating the blog, we’ve had a lot of fun over the last couple weeks. Some girlfriends and I attended an art league fundraiser called, Let Them Eat Art. Various restaurants were tasked with creating dishes and drinks inspired by local artists. We had the hard job of trying all the food and voting on the most delicious and creative.Let Them Eat Art   Life Update: Girls Night Out at Columbia Art League Let Them Eat Art Fundraiser

This winter has been brutally cold and snowy this winter. The last big snow storm dropped 14+ inches which was more than enough for me. I’m officially ready for spring!Life Update: Dad and sons sledding in the snow    Boy in Snow Igloo Mom and little boy in snow

By far, the most exciting thing to happen was Ben turned the big 1-0. Him and his friends had a blast jumping around at Sky Zone. Ben’s not really into cake or cupcakes so we always grab a cookie cake from Great American Cookies.Boy's 10th Birthday Party SkyZone  Boy's 10th Birthday eating Great American Cookies Birthday Cake

He has been begging us to get a debit card so we finally took him to open a checking account. We let him spend some of his birthday money and the rest he deposited into his account. We recently switched from a large national bank to a smaller local one and the customer service has been amazing. The banker treated Ben just like any other customer and made him feel really special and important.10 year old boy opening his own bank account

Last month’s book club was at a Mexican restaurant where you could order your margarita with a mini bottle of champagne. Of course, I had to try it. The peach margarita + bubbly champagne was the perfect combination. Our book was Where the Crawdads Sing and if you haven’t read it, add it to your list stat.

Last but not least, I finally jumped on the bandwagon and tried dermaplaning. I was absolutely terrified to do it, but after I watched several tutorials on YouTube, I’m happy to report that my face isn’t slashed to shreds and I still have both of my eyebrows. If you want a good laugh, make sure you check out the video on my Instagram Highlights under beauty.
