Despite trying my best to avoid getting my co-worker + Jack’s cold I sent this Snapchat last night after the sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes were in full force. Hellllooo sexy.
But let’s rewind to before the sickness and earlier this weekend which was actually pretty good. Saturday was the day of all days with temperatures reaching almost 80!
After a pretty sleepless night thanks to Jack’s coughing and ultimately “sleeping” in bed with me, we headed out to grab bagels for breakfast and then managed to spend the majority of the day outside.
I cleaned and swept out the garage and J finally took down our Christmas lights. Don’t judge us. The kids also managed to drag out almost every outdoor toy and bike/scooter/car we have. I had to draw the line at the water table despite them assuring me summer was here. FYI It’s supposed to snow Wednesday.
We also headed to get the car washed and vacuumed which was the best $25 I’ve spent in a long time.
Nothing says warm weather like J and I’s favorite frozen adult beverage.
Saturday night J and I went to a newer restaurant in town and I branched out and tried the braised short rib cannelloni. Different, but pretty good and I was proud of myself for trying something new.
Sunday went way too fast. We ate lunch at the Olive Garden where the boys were actually very well behaved followed by a leisurely trip to Target where the boys, again, managed not to act like wild animals. I also found this AWESOME tray which happened to be laying in a random aisle but was originally from the dollar spot. I haven’t decided if I’m going to stain the very light wood or leave it as it is, thoughts?
And last but not least on Sunday night I made this Bang Bang Chicken which had been sitting on my Pinterest board just starring at me. YOU GUYS. This was my favorite thing I’ve ever made. EVER!! J said it was his second favorite coming in just behind my recipe for jalapeno stuffed chicken breast. I will definitely be making this again and next time with shrimp. The only slightly negative thing I have to say about this recipe is that I found it to take longer than 30 minutes from start to finish but that could also just be me. And whatever you do, make the sweet chili sauce.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Hope you're feeling better. Your kiddos are adorable. I sooo wish there was an Olive Garden and Target in the city where I live. Then again, it's probably good there's not. I'd spend too much time and money there.
