I’m back! Complete with a new name and all. First of all, THANK YOU to those of you who reached out about the new name and blog layout. The decision to rebrand doesn’t come lightly and it certainly isn’t easy switching domains, social media handles, not to mention figuring out html and re-directing issues. Despite all that, it is so worth it and I’m in love with the easier to read layout and a brand that will hopefully fit me better.So let’s get to the big question.
Why did I get rid of Our Family Family?
I started Our Fishy Family shortly after I had Ben (8 years ago) as a way to scrapbook our lives and remember those little details of life. As Ben got older, blogging become more popular. The types of blogs I was reading expanded and I knew I wanted to expand what I was blogging about as well. As much as I love my kids and being a mom, there was also a lot more to me and my life that wasn’t really portrayed on the blog. Also, my kids are getting older and Ben, in particular, is very aware of things like social media and even this blog. He’s at an age where he will tell me if/when he doesn’t want certain things posted and I have to respect his privacy.
This doesn’t mean Cortney & Co won’t still have weekend recaps or snapshots into my life as mom. I still like reading those kinds of posts and I know you all do to. But you’ll also see more content related to style, easy recipes, personal struggles, DIYs, encouragement, and so much more.
I’m so grateful for all of you, old followers and new. I hope you love this new space as much as I do and that you’ll join me on this new venture!
