Like most of the world, we spent last night trying to see the supermoon lunar eclipse but sadly it was pretty cloudy here. We got to see the beginning of it and we did get about a minute break from the clouds during it, but other than that it was a whole lot of nothing. J and Ben hopped in the car and drove several miles from the house to see if they could get past the clouds but didn’t have much luck.
Backing up to Friday afternoon I went to “Johnny Appleseed’s birthday party” in Ben’s classroom. The kids learned about him all week and then Friday they rotated classrooms and each classroom did different activities, crafts, games, etc. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE his new school and in particular his teacher?!?
Saturday morning we were up and at em. We grabbed some donuts and stopped on the way back to our car to cheer on some half marathon runners who happened to be passing by downtown at the moment we were leaving the donut shop. Oh the irony. Jack loved clapping and yelling, “go go go.”
After donuts we headed to an event at a local farm owned and put on by the University of Missouri. This is the second year we’ve gone and we had such a blast. Here’s a few pics, but I’ll be doing a full re-cap later.
I finally busted out the vest and boots since temps were in the low 60’s in the morning, but in true MO form I was sweating to death by the afternoon when temps were back up in the 80’s.
After the farm we enjoyed lunch on the patio at our favorite brewery and then came home and worked on staining the deck. When that whole project is finished I’ll be so.freakin.glad. I’ve been making sure to take pics as we’ve gone along so I’ll post those soon once it’s done or winter’s here. Whichever comes first.
Sunday we I cleaned up the house and ran some errands before heading up for dinner at J’s aunt’s house. There’s a park down the road from her house that does train rides and we took the last ride of the season with J’s mom, brother, and the boys’ cousin.
And last but not least…I got to pick out an early birthday present:) It’s the perfect size and I’m in love with this color for fall/winter.
This week is sure to be busy with lots of meetings, an overnight work trip, and then J and I are heading to the Windy City this weekend for my big 3-0! Have a great Monday!!
Linking up with Biana for Weekending!

We got a good glimpse of the moon too!! It looked very weird with the reddish hue, like it was Mars instead of the moon! Very cool though. Looks like you had a great weekend!!
