I love a good quiche, but I’ve avoided making them in the past because they seem so time consuming and hard to make. Luckily this recipe is both delicious and requires little effort. I scoured the internet for the tastiest, easiest recipe. and when I didn’t find one I came up with my own.
What You Need:
-1 pre-made frozen pie shell
-3/4 lb sausage (I used spicy, but use whatever variety you like)
-5 eggs
-1 cup heavy cream (to lighten it up use half & half)
-6 slices of Swiss cheese
-1 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese
What To Do:
1. Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Brown the sausage in a large skillet. While the sausage is browning, beat the eggs and cream in a large bowl then set aside.
2. Tear the Swiss cheese slices in half and layer them in the bottom of the pie crust. Sprinkle 3/4 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the Swiss.
3. Once the sausage is cooked, drain and wait for it to cool slightly before adding it to the egg and cream mixture.
4. Pour 1/2 of the mixture into the pie crust.
5. Top the sausage with the remaining Swiss and cheddar cheese then add the remaining sausage mixture.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
Enjoy!
