Every Saturday is doughnut day in our house. I’m more of bagel person than a donut person but J and Ben love them. Usually we pick up our favorites, but a few weekends ago I decided to make my own. It’s been far, far too long since I’ve posted a recipe review. As you can see, Menu Monday’s are out, so I’m trying something new. I’ve made lots of new recipes lately, so let’s check out what I liked and what I didn’t. Cheesy Chicken Empanadas via Pinterest Grade B+, although J would give it a C. I really liked it, but J isn’t a huge fan of Pie Crust. One tip is to definitely over stuff these babies or you’ll end up tasting more of the crust than the filling. Snow Ice Cream

This past weekend I attempted to make Gooey Butter Cake. After scouring numerous recipes I settled on one and it happened to be delicious! What You’ll Need: 1 box yellow cake mix 1/2 cup butter, melted 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 8 oz cream cheese 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 4 cups powdered sugar What to Do: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Mix cake mix, melted butter or margarine, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 2 eggs with a spoon.
