Weekend Recap

Life + Weekend Recap

It’s been awhile since I’ve done an update. Life has been busy and honestly the last thing I’ve wanted to do at night is sit down and blog. I’m making it a goal to post more consistently for the month of May and I’ve got several other blog goals that I want to accomplish.

Here’s what we’ve been up to lately.

We bought this Ikea table a few weeks ago and I was dreading putting it together. We’ve all heard the horror stories about putting Ikea furniture together so I was expecting the worst. Wouldn’t you know it ended up being so easy that Ben put most of it together by himself. For real. This table will eventually be a DIY Lego Table as soon as I order and install the Lego baseplates.8 year old boy assembling Ikea table

I think the nice weather is here to stay which means I’m taking advantage of all the patios and happy hours. This savory cheesecake was every bit as amazing as it looks.Savory Cheesecake and Sangria at Happy Hour

Last week I went to a one-day workshop that was on a farm. Literally. Cows and all.Weekend Update Farm with cows

On Saturday Ben and I woke up super early to drive to his first out of town competitive track meet. It was a long day but I’m so proud of how he did. His team has been practicing 3 times a week for the last several weeks in every weather condition possible. After his first practice in 20 degree weather he really wanted to quit and I’m so proud that he stuck it out. He got 2nd place in the 1500m and the 800m and also shaved seconds off his previous time.Weekend Update boy with 2nd place medals for track

Sunday was spent doing yard work and cleaning some neglected areas of the house (i’m looking at you bathrooms). Later that afternoon my parents and sister’s family came over for pizza and cake to celebrate my dad’s birthday.Weekend Update: Daughter and Dad

Here’s to the start of a great May! Linking up with Biana for Weekending.
