Binge Worthy Shows to Watch This Winter

Although spring is right around the corner, winter and cold temps are still hanging around which make it the perfect time to get caught up on all the must-see shows. These binge worthy series are some of our favorites and cover a wide range of genres so there’s something for everyone on the list. Let me know if you have a favorite that I didn’t mention, I’m always looking for something new!

From Scratch | Netflix

“An artist finds romance with a chef in Italy and embarks on a life-changing journey of love, loss, resilience and hope across cultures and continents.”

The outfits, the scenery, the love story…need I say more. The series is based off a memoir which I promptly added to my Goodreads list.

Dead to Me | Netflix

“Overwhelmed by grief and anger after her husband’s sudden death, acerbic real estate agent Jen meets tenderhearted Judy through a support group.”

All 3 seasons of this binge worthy show are great and I laughed out loud more times than I can count. Season 3 absolutely gutted me and it was the perfect bittersweet ending to the series.

The Last of Us | HBO

“After a global pandemic destroys civilization, a hardened survivor takes charge of a 14-year-old girl who may be humanity’s last hope.”

Based on a video game, if you’re a fan of The Walking Dead or other zombie apocalypse shows/movies, you’ll love this one. And you’ll never look at fungi the same again.

Ginny & Georgia | Netflix

“Free-spirited Georgia and her two kids, Ginny and Austin, move north in search of a fresh start but find that the road to new beginnings can be bumpy.”

To say I’m obsessed with this show would be an understatement. I was surprised by how quickly I feel in love with this series and I’m not so patiently waiting for the next season to come out.

White Lotus Season 2 | HBO

“Guests and the employees of the White Lotus resort deal with messy relationships during what is supposed to be a luxurious and relaxing island getaway in Sicily.”

I liked the first season of White Lotus but I loved season 2. The storylines weaved together perfectly and and I heard a rumor that Aubrey Plaza might be coming back for the next season. Fingers crossed.

Season 3 Emily in Paris | Netflix

“Emily is stuck between choosing her mentor and old boss, Madeline or Sylvie, her new fierce challenger.”

While we get closure with some of the characters, the ending left me shocked. Like the first two seasons, the outfits and landscape have me dreaming of a Parisian vacation.

You Season 4 | Netflix

“Joe finds himself in the company of “the most insane, damaged people on Earth: a circle of privileged douchebags” as he tries to prove to Marienne that he’s more than just a murderer.”

This season is so unlike the other ones and Joe is now the one being hunted. If you like Clue, you’ll find yourself trying to figure out which character is guilty of killing off their friends one by one.

Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 | Hulu

“June faces consequences for her actions while struggling to redefine her identity and purpose. She and Luke are still joined in their mission to save Hannah and get her out of Gilead.”

All I can say is, my how the tables have turned. The last 3 episodes might be my favorite of all the seasons.

Shrinking | Apple TV

“Shrinking” follows a grieving therapist who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives including his own.

I’ve only watched the first couple of episodes but this show is a great mix of humor, wit, and heartfelt emotion.

The Culpo Sisters | HBO

“Former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo and her sisters, Aurora and Sophia, take on social media stardom while dealing with relationship snafus, family mischief and constant advice from millions of followers.”

I stumbled upon this series and although it’s not going to win any awards, if you like reality television, you’ll like this one.

Snack vs Chef | Netflix

“Twelve chefs channel their inner food scientists to re-create classic snacks and invent their own original treats for a $50,000 prize.”

My friend Jaclyn told us about this series and it quickly became a family favorite. I’m amazed at the different chefs’ creations and we love guessing who’s going to make it to the next round.

Mythic Quest | Apple (J’s rec)

“The owner of a successful video game design company and his troubled staff struggle to keep their hit game ‘Mythic Quest’ on top.”

I’ve only seen a few minutes, but J swears by this show and insisted I add it to the list. Take that for what it’s worth 🙂
