Can you believe we’re already a quarter of the way through the year? If you’re hitting your goals then keep at it, but if you aren’t or haven’t even started yet, it’s not too late. You get to choose the life you want and the kind of person you are. Set those goals, crush them, and even if you fall short, remember that progress trumps perfection.
//Write down 10 things I’m grateful for every single day//
I’m getting better at it. I’m still trying to find the best time to do this and it seems to be early in the morning, reflecting on the previous day.
//Complete at least 3 devotionals or bible studies//
I ordered Awaken by Priscilla Shirer after reading so many great reviews about it.
//Workout at least 4 times per week for 30 minutes//
I’m working out pretty consistently and also trying to take walk breaks during the workday if it’s nice outside.
//Lose 20 pounds//
I’ve lost 10.7 pounds since January. I definitely feel better and my clothes fit much better, some are even too big.
//Give up soda for at least 30 days//
I completed this one at the end of January. I’m still really limiting myself and didn’t have more than 2 or 3 the entire month of March.
//Wake up an hour earlier on weekdays in order to have the best start to my day//
I was doing good, the sun was rising earlier, and then daylight savings hit. It’s also still in the 20’s or 30’s here so the dark + plus cold makes it really hard to get out of my warm bed, but I’m trying to be consistent with it.
//Drink half my body weight in ounces of water//
Crushing this one.
//Read 12 books throughout the year//
I’ve read 9 books so far this year so I’ll reach this one pretty quickly.
//Declare our house a yelling free zone and create a plan on how we’ll do this//
I’m trying to be super intentional about this one and just walk away if I find I’m about to snap at the kids. I’ve also made their tablet time contingent on them listening and doing their chores which has also helped.
//Have bi-weekly date nights with my husband. Whether we go out or do something at home, a time carved out for just the two of us to strengthen our marriage//
This month we grabbed Mexican, went to a movie, and spent time together after the kids went to bed catching up on The Walking Dead.
//Continue to create a budget each month and update the budget at least weekly//
March’s budget got a little off track at the end of the month due to Spring Break, but we’re all set for April. We ate out and got take out a lot in March so I’m cutting back in April.
//Create a house where stuff does not cause chaos. Each room will only have things we love and all of those things will have a place//
Despite doing a big purge in January, decluttering isn’t just a one time thing and I’m still finding things we don’t need or love that I can get rid of. We also completed a few projects around the house (shelving in our guest bath & built in shoe racks) and it feels great to get those knocked out.
